Anadolu Efes goes big with Krstic
In its continuing roster remake, Anadolu Efes Istanbul signed the most productive player of the past three Turkish Airlines Euroleague seasons, veteran big man Nenad Krstic, to a two-year deal on Thursday. No player has collected more performance index points than Krstic's 1,184 since the start of the 2011-12 season, a big reason that he was voted to the All-Euroleague First Team in that year and the next. Last season with CSKA Moscow, Krstic (2.12 meters, 31 years old) averaged 9.6 points and 3.2 rebounds, and was named bwin MVP for January. Krstic spent the last three years with CSKA, helping the team to a Final Four appearance in each. CSKA and Krstic won three VTB League titles as well as three Russian Championships together. Krstic will be reunited at Efes with head coach Dusan Ivkovic. They worked together for the past six years with the Serbian national team, where Krstic has been the long-time captain, but this will be their first time together at the club level. Before CSKA, Krstic spent seven years in the NBA, averaging 10 points and 5.4 rebounds in 419 games with Boston, Oklahoma City and New Jersey. Before that Krstic was a double-digit Euroleague scorer in each of his last two seasons, 2002-03 and 2003-04, with Partizan Belgrade. He had a stint with Triumph Lyubertsy, where he started the 2008-09 season. The veteran center also won a silver medal with Serbia at the EuroBasket 2009.
