World number eight Stanislas Wawrinka is scheduled to compete with the best tennis players in the world at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi next month.

Wawrinka will face third-ranked David Ferrer of Spain in his opening match at the December 26 to 28 event.

“I have achieved many things this year that I am very proud of and I hope to continue this momentum through to Abu Dhabi in December and into the 2014 season. The line-up in Abu Dhabi this year is really strong and after the season I’ve had it seemed like the ideal time for me to play the tournament again. We’ll all be looking to see where we stand against each other after the off season,” the Swiss player was quoted as saying.

Other players who have confirmed participation at the Abu Dhabi event are No. 1 Rafael Nadal, defending champion Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer and Andy Murray.

Nastradao je Rafa od Noleta i u Cileu. Nole je slavio rezultatom 2:0 po setovima 7:6, 6:4.

Rafael Nadal played in an exhibition match against David Nalbandian to help the Argentine bid farewell to his tennis career. Nalbandian defeated Rafa 6-4, 7-6 and received a warm send-off from the crowd.

Ana Ivanovic and Maria Sharapova attended a press conference in Bogota, Colombia Thursday evening ahead of their exhibition match. ESPN Deportes reported from the media call that Maria expressed her enthusiasm in getting back on court, having had missed the latter part of the 2013 season. Ana said of the destination, “people in Colombia are very friendly. And the food is delicious.”

After, the pair signed two racquets that will be auctioned to benefit the tennis foundation and Desayunitos Foundation.

She little bit chocked when in super-TB waste 4 MP's in the row and even must to face one (from 9-5 to 9-10), but than with 4 great serves (Maria's DF at MP is also counted) finished job.

Juan Martin del Potro and Lleyton Hewitt were together for a press conference ahead of their exhibition match, which will take place Saturday evening in the Argentine capital.

“It will be fun to play on a hard court in the backyard of Juan Martin. I’ve come to enjoy the experience,” said Hewitt.
