Petak uvece ima neke sanse, videcu. Prosle godine je Raonic igrao sa Samprasom, ali bio je cetvrtak i nisam mogao da idem.

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced today that Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska has qualified for this year’s TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships, which will be staged at the Sinan Erdem Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. The WTA’s year-end finale, to be held from October 23-28, will feature the world’s top eight singles players and top four doubles teams, competing for the coveted title and a share of $4.9 million in prize money.

“Agnieszka is having the best year of her career by winning three WTA titles and earning a spot in the Wimbledon final,” said Stacey Allaster, WTA Chairman and CEO. “In addition to being an admirable and inspiring champion, Aga is an amazing ambassador for women’s tennis and it comes as no surprise that she was voted as Fan Favorite last year.”

Radwanska commented, “I am looking forward to returning to Istanbul for the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships this year. This is a goal for every player at the start of the season and I’m so happy to have made it. The Championships is the biggest WTA event of the year and I look forward to playing against the best in the world.”

The 23-year-old has reached the quarterfinals or better 13 times in 19 events, highlighted by three titles – the Dubai Duty Free Championships, Sony Open Tennis (Miami), and Brussels Open. Earlier this year at Wimbledon, Radwanska became the first Polish woman since 1939 to reach the final at a Grand Slam. It was her best career Grand Slam result having previously advanced to the quarterfinals five times. Throughout her career, Radwanska has won 10 singles titles.

Currently ranked world No.3, Radwanska has qualified for the year-end Championships for the second consecutive year. She also competed at the event as an alternate in 2009. Radwanska joins Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams in the singles competition with the final four positions to be determined in the upcoming weeks.

Agnieszka & Urszula: Helping People In Need
KRAKOW, Poland - It was a big year for both of the Radwanska sisters - Agnieszka made her first Grand Slam final and went as high as No.2 in the world, Urszula made her first WTA final and broke the Top 30 - but when it comes down to helping others, neither one has let her success get in the way.

For the fourth year in a row the sisters took some time out during the off-season to help out in Poland's Szlachetna Paczka - or "Noble Box" - a charity that sees volunteers go door to door throughout the year compiling a database of families in distress, asking them what would help ease the pressures of the holidays, then, for a three week period from mid-November, donors are given a list of needs to take with them to a supermarket, where they fill a shopping cart with the desired food, household items, clothing and more to donate to them.

This year, the Radwanskas decided to support two single-mother families along with several of their children from their hometown in Krakow, Poland.

"These families are in a particularly difficult situation, because a single mother cares for all of her children and they really need some help," Agnieszka said.

"The shopping list was very long, but we weren't concerned about that or the money - all we wanted for these people was to maintain basic living standards, especially in the Christmas season," Urszula said. "That was our only focus."

"When we were asked a few years ago we didn't have to think long - it's a great joy to be able to help, especially during the holidays," Agnieszka added.

The Radwanskas will spend Christmas Eve in Krakow before leaving for the other side of the world the next morning to prepare for Week 1 of the new season - Urszula Radwanska is playing in Brisbane, Australia, while Agnieszka Radwanska will be playing in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Noble Box project was recently supported by Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid - it also received a special blessing from Pope Benedict XVI.

11. titula bez izgubljenog seta, prva na Južnoj Hemisveri i Okeaniji. Još joj fale samo iz Afrike i Južne Amerike
