Jankovic, also, is getting closer to hiring a new coach. "To be honest," she said, "it's very difficult to be without a coach....I need someone to push me." Jankovic said that, at her age, motivation doesn't always come naturally to her: "I can be lazy at times; that's my weakness." The former world number 1 said that she likes to have someone around to push her and to be the "voice in my head."
I can be lazy at all times

After reaching the quarter finals in the 2009 and 2010 editions, the current no. 17 in the WTA rankings has once again arrived in Madrid. She took time out after her first training on the blue clay courts to answer our questions.
Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic has arrived at the Mutua Madrid Open with the clear ambition of taking the title at the Caja Mágica, as well as dreams of getting back to the very top of world tennis after a shakeup in her team.
After reaching the quarter finals in the 2009 and 2010 editions, what are your expectations for this year’s tournament?
My goal is to win the tournament, but this blue clay is new and it will be the first time for all of us so it will be interesting.
The last time you competed at this tournament it was on its original clay court. What do you think of this new blue one?
My first impressions are good. It’s a nice court, a bit faster, but so far I like it.
Having reached the number one spot once already, what are your objectives for this season?
I would like to have a new team of people who will try and help me reach the top again. My primary goal is to improve my game, I have been training really hard and making progress in all areas. Overall becoming a better player. By having good games and physically being better the results will come and obviously the ranking will move up.
