Super je što se vratila u top 10, ali trebalo bi da ima bolje savetnike oko sebe, ili neće da ih sluša. Vuče povredu od Stanforda, sinoć je jedva završila meč i umesto da preskoči ovaj turnir ona rizikuje da pogorša stvari pred USO. Šta joj je ovo trebalo ako hoće velike rezultate kao što kaže? :(

Bolan poraz Ane posle 3h igre :( Vodila je 3-0 u trecem :(
Taman krene dobro da igra a povrede je vrate unazad. Ispala je ovim porazom iz prvih 10 i van prvih 8 u trci za Singapur. No to je sada manje bitno, bitno je da sredi tu povredu do USO-a.

Posle loseg Montreala odlicna nedelja u Sinsinatiju. Vrlo bitne pobede protiv Kuze (gubila 3-1 u trecem) i pogotovu protiv Sarapove u polufinalu uz spasene 2 mec lopte. Fenomenalan mec. U finalu vec umorna Ana gubi od Serene 63 61

Od sutra je 9. na svetu (4.065 poena) a na rejs listi je 7. (3.520 poena)

Ana će u utorak u meču prvog kola US Opena igrati protiv 44. teniserke sveta Alison Riske.

To će biti njihov drugi međusobni susret: Ana je trijumfovala sa 7-5, 7-6 u Aucklandu 31. decembra 2013. godine, na putu do osvajanja turnira.

24-godišnja Riske je, kao i Ana, prošle godine na Flushing Meadows-u stigla do četvrtog kola. U stvari, njih dve su mogle da se sretnu u četvrtfinalu.

Riske je prošle nedelje u New Haven-u priredila iznenađenje i pobedila 13. teniserku sveta, Italijanku Flaviu Pennettu, na putu do četvrtine finala, što joj je najbolji rezultat na nekom turniru ove godine.

Amerikanka, koja je u junu ove godine došla na 40. mesto svetske rang liste, što joj je najbolji plasman u karijeri, od prošlogodišnjeg US Open-a nije pobedila u tri meča za redom na nekom WTA turniru.

“Do sada je ovo leto bilo dobro za mene,” rekla je Ana, koja trenutno ima najbolji ranking (9. mesto) od maja 2009. godine, i najbolju poziciju nosioca (8. nosilac) na Grand Slam-u od French Open-a 2009. godine.

“Cincinnati je za mene bio jako dobar turnir, i mislim da sam na dobrom putu.

“Nažalost, US Open je za mene uvek bio najteži Grand Slam, ali nadam se da ću ove godine to da promenim.”

Ivanovic races into second round

WHAT HAPPENED: In a sleek, black dress and mint sneakers, No. 8 seed Ana Ivanovic looked to be channeling Audrey Hepburn’s character from the classic film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” as she began her first-round match Tuesday morning. The strong Serbian closed out a 6-3, 6-0 win over Alison Riske just in time for lunch.

The sun was bright over Arthur Ashe Stadium with just one cloud in the first set, but nothing overshadowed Ivanovic’s experience and confidence coming into this year’s tournament. Despite being broken in the first game by the 24-year-old American, who was frequently urged on by the crowd, the 2008 French Open champion broke back immediately and continuously motivated herself in Serbian, saying “ajde” and “idemo” after winning long rallies.

Riske looked to fight back as she broke Ivanovic at love when she was serving for the first set, but it ultimately went the way of the Serb in 37 minutes.

There continued to be diverse shot-making in the second set, but it went quickly, with Ivanovic not letting any games go to her opponent in just 27 minutes. A total of 19 winners in the match and her ability to create break-point opportunities ultimately helped Ivanovic move on to the second round.

“Every first round is always nervous, but it’s about doing the things you practiced,” a pleased Ivanovic said on court after her win. “This is what we work for, and the crowd here is just the best crowd. I hope you guys enjoyed."

WHAT IT MEANS: Ivanovic scored her first Grand Slam win, and 48th match win of 2014, with new coach Dejan Petrovic, whom she began working with after Wimbledon. Currently ranked No. 7 in the WTA’s Road to Singapore leaderboard as she attempts to qualify for the WTA Finals for the first time since 2008, Ivanovic will face Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic in the second round.

With the loss, Riske will not match her US Open performance from last year, in which she advanced to the fourth round, her best Grand Slam result.
